For those of you who have been under a rock, FOX has a new show that is, in one word, AWESOME! Sleepy Hollow premiered on September 16th and was a HUGE success! Normally, I have found that new tv shows take a few episodes to get hooked, but this one sucked me in immediately.
Sleepy Hollow is a supernatural story of Ichabod Crane, played by the charming and handsome Tom Mison and Lieutenant Abbie Mills played by Nicole Beharie. Ichabod rises from his grave in the year 2013. He died (or so he thought) in 1781 while trying to complete a mission for George Washington during the Revolutionary War. Why has Ichabod returned? Why now? Well, it turns out that the “man” he attempted to kill during his mission has also returned. You may know him as the Headless Horseman, or Death, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. (If you don’t know who the Four Horsemen are, I recommend reading the New Testament in the Bible or… Wikipedia.)
Now, Abbie, or Lef-tenant, as Ichabod calls her, has also had her fair share of the supernatural. After she loses her mentor and partner, Sheriff Corbin, she finds herself searching for the truth with Crane. During their investigation, they find the Headless Horseman is not the only thing they have to worry about.
The show is filled with all the supernatural fun we love and much, much more. Tom Mison is great in this role! He has to play a man who is not accustomed to the modern normalcies that we take for granted and you see him struggle with them. However, he does this in a very witty way. Natalie Beharie also does a fantastic job with her role. She has to deal with Crane and his, well, ignorance of the modern world, which includes the slavery. Good thing he was opposed to slavery in his time!
Check your local listings and watch the new episodes. I believe we are on a bi-week, so you have more than enough time to catch up before the next episode. You can also watch the episodes on FOX. And good news to all you fans as the second season is a go!!! Thank God Fox isn’t screwing this one up!
Enjoy and cheers!
