Thursday- Day one of San Diego Comic Con 2015 started off with a BANG!  Thanks to an amazingly generous man (yes, I mean you Xaque), I was lucky enough to cover the Hitman Agent 47 panel at NerdHQ!  Now, I know many fans of the game were hesitant to even look at anything movie-related when it came to Hitman seeing as how the first movie didn’t remotely live up to their expectations.  Honestly, I had seen the movie prior to playing the game, so I actually enjoyed it.  Now, that could have been because I have a special place in my heart for Timothy Olyphant, but that’s a story for another time.  But after playing the game and spending countless hours immersed in the storyline, I can see why fans had a difficult time embracing the movie.

Now, onto the good stuff.  The Hitman Agent 47 panel was hosted by Zachary Levi and let me tell you, that man knows how to moderate a panel!  Zachary wasted no time and introduced us to the stars of the movie, Rupert Friend and Hannah Ware!  Zachary Quinto was supposed to be there but he had to cancel because he was, as Zachary Levi put it, “filming a very, very big movie called Star Trek. And I think it’s just because he only has half of an eyebrow.”

Most of the questions asked were typical of a panel.  You know, how difficult was training; what was your favorite gun to use; what was it like being bald…  We did find out that Rupert Friend is a HUGE fan of HearthStone– an online collectible card game by Blizzard.  “It’s like Magic the Gathering, but you can’t trade cards.”

Another fun moment was when Rupert Friend and Zachary Levi spoke the TMNT theme song.  And then Hannah Ware dropped a bomb on us when she revealed she thought she left guns in her hotel room in Berlin…  Um, what?

We got to see the trailer for the movie and I have to say, I am really excited about this.  It is a stand-alone movie, so haters of the first film, do not fret.  There are no ties.  I really think that once the fans watch the trailer, it put some of their concerns to rest.

This was a very entertaining panel, so I don’t want to give too many spoilers, plus it was sold out, which means that $4,000 was raised for Operation Smile!  That means 16 children will receive new smiles!  Operation Smile is a charity dedicated to helping improve the health and lives of children and young adults by providing free surgical procedures for cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities.
