And the Doctor is… SPOILERS!

I wanted to wait just a bit to make sure everyone was able to view the Doctor Who televised announcement.  (That and I went to see Wolverine… More on that later)

If you haven’t watched it yet, there will be a spoiler below.  I don’t care if you keep reading, but I think you should watch it first.  You know what, here is the clip.  Watch it.

You saw it correctly Peter Capaldi!  Famously known for his roles in:

• In The Loop
• Bean
• Selling Hitler

Ok… Maybe you haven’t’ heard of him.  He’s big in the UK. He was also in World War Z.  But he seems like he can fit the part.

I am slightly hesitant only because of the way they were taking the Doctor in the series.  They were keeping him younger and honestly, many found him physically appealing.  But hey, even the Doctor needs a change once in a while.  So let’s see what happens.  Who knows, we might be pleasantly surprised.  I mean, I wasn’t pleased when David Tennant left and it did take a few episodes.  But in the end, Matt Smith grew on me and I think Peter Capaldi will do the same.  Each Doctor is different and brings something new to the table.

Good luck filling those shoes Mr. Capaldi.  I am sure you will make us fans very proud.

We will miss you Matt Smith.  Can’t wait to see what your next adventure is!

Doctor Who: Who is the NEXT Doctor???

Who will the NEXT DOCTOR be???  Doctor Who fans the TIME IS ALMOST UPON US!  The answer will be revealed tomorrow on BBC AMERICA!

So who will he/she be?  Yes, I said she because the idea has been thrown out there.  I do have to say, however, that it will likely not go over so well with the audience if the Doctor were to be female.  It’s not to say there cannot be a female TIMELORD; however, THIS Doctor just cannot be female.  Especially the character has been written…

“And here’s the official word, Doctor Who fans:the next Doctor will be revealed before a live studio audience in a special set to air Sunday, August 4 at 2 pm ET on BBC AMERICA, according to a release today (August 1).”

Matt Smith, out 11th Doctor will be leaving us.  He will regenerate in the Christmas Special and that is when we will actually see our new Doctor.

So, rumors have been going around that the 12th Doctor might be American.  Well, Misha Collins (Castiel from SUPERNATURAL) decided to tweet the following:

I do NOT appreciate being toyed with!  Now, if this IS true, I would be very happy.  I love Misha Collins and I think that he could definitely add something new and interesting to the character.  And I don’t think it would be a bad thing to have an American Doctor.  Try it out and see how it goes.

Having said all that, I think he is teasing and that doesn’t make me a very happy camper.  Whatever…  People do this all the time.  If it’s true, cool…  If not,  I’m still excited about what’s in store for the series.
